Numerous users on X have observed that Musk has removed a post in which he effectively accused Trump of being involved in dubious activities with Jeffrey Epstein, the deceased financier and convicted pedophile who took his own life while in federal custody in 2019.
Musk’s post stated: “Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”
However, the post has now been deleted, leading many to infer that Musk is seeking to reconcile. The removal of the post also follows a strong rebuttal of the accusation as false, including from Epstein’s attorney at the time of his death.
Attorney David Schoen remarked in a post on X that Epstein had informed him he possessed no inappropriate or damaging information regarding the future president.
“I was engaged to lead Jeffrey Epstein’s defense as his criminal lawyer nine days prior to his death. He sought my counsel for several months before that. I can assert with authority, unequivocally, and definitively that he had no information that could harm President Trump. I specifically inquired about this!” the attorney stated on the platform.
Additionally, Michael Cohen, Trump’s former personal attorney who experienced a fallout with the president during his first term, also denied Musk’s claim.
“I possess extensive knowledge of Trump, having been by his side for nearly a decade and a half,” Cohen told MSNBC on Friday. “I assure you it’s nonsense. To the best of my knowledge and based on everything I know, it’s not true.”

Last month, Attorney General Pam Bondi disclosed that the FBI is examining “tens of thousands of videos of [Jeffrey] Epstein with children or child porn” and noted that there are “hundreds of victims” as she addressed the concerns regarding the delay in the release of the case files.
“The FBI is thoroughly reviewing that,” Bondi informed reporters on Wednesday morning, clarifying that the extensive amount of evidence is the reason why additional files have not yet been made available.
Epstein’s wealth and philanthropic efforts positioned him as a significant figure in the realms of politics, academia, and finance. Nevertheless, the complete extent of his criminal activities remains unclear, including whether he had any accomplices aside from his imprisoned associate, Ghislaine Maxwell; Trump pledged to release the files before assuming office.
Representative James Comer, a Republican from Kentucky and the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, voiced his apprehension that crucial Epstein documents may have been destroyed before the Trump administration’s inauguration.
“The president mandated their release, the attorney general mandated their release, we are all aware that they have not been released,” Comer stated during an appearance on The Benny Show in May.
As a participant in the House Oversight Task Force focused on the declassification of government secrets, which is currently addressing the Epstein files, Comer is part of the task force chaired by Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL).
