Over the past few months, we’ve been reporting that the singer Beyoncé has been struggling to sell tickets to her Cowboy Carter tour. Now, things have gotten even worse for Beyoncé. Indeed, she’s found herself being cancelled by her own fans for wearing an “offensive” t-shirt.
Beyoncé’s ‘Canceled’ Over ‘Offensive’ T-Shirt
While performing in Paris, France, Beyoncé, 43, sparked outrage when she wore a T-shirt emblazoned with the Buffalo Soldiers. These soldiers were some of the first African Americans to serve in the U.S. military.
This may seem like a harmless celebration of American history. However, there is more to it than meets the eye.
Outraged fans have pointed out that back in the 1800s, the Buffalo Soldiers fought on the side of European colonizers against the Native Americans in the Indian Wars. Beyoncé was undoubtedly aware of this, as the back of her shirt featured a controversial passage about the Native Americans that the Buffalo soldiers went up against.
According to ONTD, one verse on Beyoncé’s shirt reads, “Their antagonists were the enemies of peace, order and settlement: warring Indians, bandits, cattle thieves, murderous gunmen, bootleggers, trespassers, and Mexican revolutionaries.”

Beyoncé Fans Turn On Her
This was enough to cause even some of Beyoncé’s most loyal fans to turn on her. Indeed, they were quick to take to social media to express their fury.
“Not everything in Black history needs to be revered and turned into an aesthetic,” one fan commented. Another added, “The Buffalo Soldiers did awful things to indigenous people. The way she waves away their atrocities against indigenous people is gross. Beyoncé’s romanticism of this is beyond the pale.”
“Beyoncé wearing a Buffalo Soldiers shirt, an American army unit comprised exclusively of African Americans that helped European and white American colonists fight back Native Americans and seize control of their land, is not the serve she thinks it is,” a third social media user wrote. “That Cowboy Carter album got her feeling all kinds of patriotic in all the wrong ways.”
“I’m glad I’m seeing so many posts against Beyoncé peddling this Buffalo Soldier nonsense because I love her music but she’s not beyond being rightfully criticized especially for selling merch calling Native Americans enemies of peace, like how dare you,” yet another former Beyoncé fan commented. A fifth wrote, “That shirt… ma’am someone in your team should’ve done a triple check. That’s tone deaf as hell.”

Beyoncé Struggles To Sell Cowboy Carter Tickets
This controversy is the last thing Beyoncé needs right now, given how much she has struggled to sell her Cowboy Carter tickets. Many fans have struggled to connect with her foray into country music, particularly in Europe.
“While I’m a Beyoncé fan, I personally don’t enjoy Cowboy Carter as much as her other albums,” one fan told The London Times. “So I just decided not to get a ticket.”
“Nobody cares about cowgirl version of Beyoncé,” a social media user boldly declared. Another wrote, “This country album should’ve been a donation based concert.”
Needless to say, this has all been very humiliating for Beyoncé. When her tickets in the United States were slashed to prices as low as $20, a social media post went viral comparing this to the price of limited edition Minecraft Movie Big Mac Meals from McDonald’s. These meals are being sold for around the same price.
“Due to its low demand, Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour tickets ($20) are now cheaper than a McDonald’s Minecraft meal ($21.39),” the viral post read.
It doesn’t get much more embarrassing than that, folks!
Beyoncé has yet to respond publicly to the outrage over her Buffalo Soldiers shirt. Only time will tell if she can bounce back from this!
