Mel B is gearing up for her star-studded wedding at St Paul’s Cathedral this Saturday – but two iconic Spice Girls won’t be there to witness the big moment.
Victoria Beckham and Geri Halliwell, once bandmates and close friends, have both been noticeably left off the guest list, sparking fresh speculation about lingering rifts within the group.
According to insiders, Victoria won’t make the wedding due to long-standing international commitments. “There’s no bad blood,” a source said, adding that she and Mel B remain friendly. “It’s purely a scheduling clash.”
But the situation with Geri is more complicated. Tensions between her and Mel B have persisted for years, and things escalated when Mel revealed on national television that they once had a secret romantic fling in their early Spice Girls days. Geri, and her husband Christian Horner, were reportedly humiliated by the bombshell – and Mel never offered an apology.
The rift became more evident earlier this year when both Geri and Victoria were absent from Mel’s 50th birthday bash in Leeds. Only Emma Bunton and Melanie C showed up, signalling a deepening divide.
Mel’s upcoming nuptials to hairstylist Rory McPhee mark her third marriage. The pop star first wed Dutch dancer Jimmy Gulzar in 1998 in a flamboyant Vegas-style ceremony. Her second marriage, to Stephen Belafonte in 2007, ended in a highly publicised and traumatic divorce, with Mel accusing Belafonte of abuse and financial control – allegations he strongly denies.

After years of emotional turmoil, Mel found comfort in Rory, who she describes as a longtime friend who helped her “heal” both her hair and her heart. The couple’s bond deepened during her post-divorce recovery.
Mel was granted the right to marry at St Paul’s Cathedral thanks to her OBE, awarded in 2022 for her activism supporting vulnerable women through Women’s Aid.
Ahead of the big day, Mel enjoyed a lavish hen party in Tunisia. From leopard-print bikinis and belly dancing to a seaside Zen session, it was a celebration filled with fun, freedom, and 35 of her closest friends – including her daughter Phoenix.
