At a recent stop on his Backroad Baptism Tour in Pittsburgh, Jelly Roll gave fans a night to remember — but for 11-year-old Josie Salvitti, it was a night that may have changed her life.
Holding a handmade sign that read,
“Since Lainey’s on her way to Alabama… can I sing ‘Save Me’ with you?”,
Josie stood near the front of the stage, full of hope. The crowd around her took notice, and so did Jelly Roll.
Fans Helped Make It Happen
Josie later told Music Mayhem that it wasn’t just luck — the kindness of fellow fans played a big role.
“Everyone was so nice and let us get right into the pit. Security even let me stand on a chair. Then it happened—Jelly Roll looked right at me and nodded. Like, ‘I got you.’”
And sure enough, he did.

The Duet That Stole the Show
When it came time for “Save Me,” Jelly Roll honored his silent promise. He brought Josie up onstage, handed her the mic, and the two launched into a powerful duet.
Josie took on Lainey Wilson’s vocal parts with confidence and soul, stunning the audience and even Jelly Roll himself. Her stage presence and vocal control were well beyond her years, prompting roaring cheers from the crowd.
After the song, she was invited backstage, where she and Jelly Roll took photos and shared a moment she called “unreal.”
She later posted:
“I’m so lucky. The nicest guy you’ll ever meet. Cannot wait to do it again soon.”
Not Her First Spotlight Moment
This wasn’t Josie’s first time stepping into the limelight. Earlier this summer, she made headlines during a Lainey Wilson show. From her dad’s shoulders, she held a sign reading:
“I’m 11, too young for American Idol, but can I sing ‘Watermelon Moonshine’ with you?”
Lainey noticed, passed her the mic, and let her sing a few lines — and she delivered. The moment went viral and caught the eye of American Idol producers.
A Star on the Rise
According to PGH Live Music, Josie’s performance left such a strong impression that Idol producers extended her a VIP pass to audition in Los Angeles the moment she turns 15 — the show’s minimum entry age.
With two superstar endorsements, viral videos, and a voice that silences stadiums, Josie Salvitti isn’t just a fan favorite anymore — she’s a rising star, and the world is already watching.
